Our classroom currently serves students in the district ( K-4) who have moderate to severe autism and cannot function in a regular or resource room in their home school at the current time. This may be due to cognitive inabilities, severe social/emotional disabilities or severe sensory issues that cannot be dealt with easily on a daily basis in the home school. Bel Air's environment and autism classroom help our students and staff to deal with any, or all, of these specific needs by teaching them a variety of techniques to practice and use each time one of these situations may arise.
Our classroom provides the structure and encouragement that each child needs to help them surpass their fears, lack of confidence, and sometimes knowledge by giving them the tools, peer partners,, and understanding and helpful staff to lead them to success in their lives.
